3. What is the serial number of my C3?
Every phone has an IMEI. A physical method to look at your IMEI is to open the cover, remove the battery and you will see a NOKIA tag inside. Look at the IMEI: The characters and numbers are too small to see!! You u can avoid the inconvenience of opening the back cover and battery by simply dialing *#06# . It returned my 15 digit serial number (SN).Copy this SN is in case you want your cell phone blocked in case it gets lost!
4. How do I set the date and time?
Goto Settings, select "Date and time", click on the center button and set it to the actual current date and time by clicking on the number keys. A computer which gets its date and time from the Internet is a good source of accurate time.
5. How do I stop the my cell phone ringing on incoming calls?
Activate the "Silent" mode on the ProfilesOn the main menu. Check that "Settings/Tones/Incoming call alert" is set to "OFF".
6. How do I adjust the volume for an incoming call ring?
Be sure that the Settings/Profiles mode is not on "Silent". Select or activate General profile mode. Note that the C3 does not have an external volume control. Again choose "Settings/Tones/Incoming call alert" from the main menu, select the desired sound (except OFF), browse down to "Ringing volume" and adjust to desired ring volume[5 selectable levels].
7. How do I turn off the startup tone(sound) on turning on the cellphone?
Select Settings/Phone/"start-up tone" and turn it to Off.
8. What is the current software version of my phone?
Select Settings> Phone > Phone Updates >Current sw details. As of January 14, my phone told me it is using

9. How do I update the phone software?
From the main menu, select Settings/Phone/"Phone Updates". Press center button and choose "Downl. phone software". If there is no software available, it only means you have the latest version of the NOKIA C3 software. If there is a downloadable version, then click on Install software update.
10. How do I secure my phone even if it is stolen?
To make it harder(but not impossible) for thieves to get at your data, select Settings/Security. You will be presented with the following choices: PIN code request Call barring service Fixed dialing Closed user group. Security level NOne, Memory , Phone Access codes Code in use Authority certificates User certificates Security module - grayed out in my phone. Click on PIN code request, set it to On. If you have not set your PIN, it will ask you to generate one. Be sure to memorize or copy to a safe place your PIN code! You can set Settings/Phone/"Security keyguard" to ON, however the frequent nagging to enter your security code might force you to turn this off. PIN code is by default usually set to 1234. Security code is at 6 digits long. Avoid the temptation to use for convenience, a Security code which is the PIN code with two additional digits.
11. How do I listen to FM stations?
Attach the wired earphone. This works secondly as an antenna. Open main menu. Select Music/Radio. To adjust volume: click right ring portion to increase, click left ring portion to decrease sound To select stations: Click upper right ring portion for next higher numbered FM station. Click lower right ring portion for nxt lower numbered FM station.
12. I want to hear the radio over the speakers.
    You can do that, but you still need the headphones attached! In the radio screen click on the left settings/Play via/Loudspeaker. You wont look good with the headphones on and the sound coming out of the tinny speakers!
    
13. How do you adjust the screen brightness of this camera?
The sad fact is that you CANNOT! This is one of the main gripes of this excellent but low-end model on the Nokia line of phones. See discussion on Nokia discussions I think phones which do not allow brightness adjustments should be banned from being sold!
